United States Marine Corps                                26 August 1996 to 28 June 2001
Electronics Maintenance Company, Camp Lejeune NC

Network Administrator
Executed the company level transition from Banyan Vines to Windows NT 4.0.  Currently directing the transition to a Windows 2000 native domain.
Developed, implemented, and maintained a local area network consisting of 6500+ clients running Windows 95, 98, NT4.0, NT4.0 Server, 2000 Professional, and 2000 server.
Managed, trained, and supervised help desk personnel in providing support for all operating systems, Microsoft Office 2000 Premium, Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, basic administration tasks in HP Unix 10.20, and Sybase databases.  
Diagnosed and resolved TCP/IP problems to include:
Subnet addressing issues
DNS issues such as name resolution cache errors and DNS table update problems
WINS issues such as LM Host and NetBIOS problems
DHCP and DHCP Relay Agent issues such as exclusion lists, redundant addressing table clutter
Configured and monitored switches (Smart Switch 9000) and routers (Cisco 2600).
Managed access to inter-domain resources such as e-mail (exchange server 5.5), SCSI CD towers, and shared data banks.
Provided hardware support by troubleshooting and repairing desktops (HP, Dell, Compaq), laptops (Toshiba, Dell), servers (HP 9000 d class), and backbone components to include cabling (cat 5), terminations (RJ-45), hubs (Cisco 2600), and switches (Smart Switch 9000).
Monitored, evaluated, and implemented changes to network security such as group policies, software patches/updates, and Norton Antivirus 7.5 corp. ed.

Procurement Coordinator
Responsible for initiating, researching and executing purchases from civilian vendors.
Reconciled monthly credit bills with purchase logs.

Ground Radio Repairman
Supervised the High Frequency component level repair section.
Performed component level repair on Marine Corps ground radio equipment.
